Expertise From Both Sides Of The Table & A True Partner In The Craft
John M Keating
Actors, Meet Your Audition Coach
John has been helping actors find the joy in auditioning for over a decade.
He’s coached thousands of actors on co-star, guest star, and series regular auditions for both comedic and dramatic roles. Plus, he spent 10 years working with casting director G. Charles Wright – giving him the unique advantage of building his coaching practice with a casting director at the helm.
John knows what casting expects, and is an expert at helping you bring that to each tape.
He also has a really great knack for helping actors transition from one medium to another – whether it be from musical theatre, stand-up, improv, or sketch – and into acting for TV and film. He’ll help you bring your most authentic self to every audition, especially the ones that aren’t an immediate fit for you.
A Champion of the Actor & Audition Process
As a writer, audition coach, and fellow working actor, John consistently keeps his finger on the pulse of our ever-changing and adapting industry. He understands exactly where you are –because he’s right there with you.
It’s this unique ability to give his students real-time experience and expertise from both sides of the table that makes his classes and coaching so much more than just another audition technique class.
John is dedicated to providing an inclusive space for all actors and doesn’t believe in keeping you confined in an “actor box” of what you can and can’t play. Instead, he’s all about helping you bring yourself and your personality to the audition – while still serving the scene and the character.
His Work As a Performer
As a Boston native, John began his work as a nationally touring comedian – sharing stages with acts like “Weird” Al Yankovic, George Carlin, and Barenaked Ladies.
You can catch him on your television in guest star roles on CRIMINAL MINDS, THE MIDDLE, ANGER MANAGEMENT, and DIARY OF A FUTURE PRESIDENT.
He also co-wrote and starred in the film THE CONCESSIONAIRES MUST DIE! (featuring Dan Lauria and the late Stan Lee). The film was a featured selection at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and is currently available on iTunes and Amazon.
John is represented by Joe Florance and Circle of 10 Talent, and you can check out more of his work on IMDb.
